AGS Appoints Van Ells Director of Gemological Services
The American Gem Society Laboratories (AGS) has appointed Joe Van Ells as director of gemological services. Beyoncé Knowles is set to be the face - and voice - of Giorgio Armani's new perfume, Emporio Armani Diamonds. Blood Diamond Movie to Play in Sierra Leone
The United Nations World Food Program, in conjunction with Warner Bros. will present free screenings of the movie Blood Diamond in Freetown, Sierra Leone on May 8 and 9, 2007.   The movie, directed by Edward Zwick, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Djimon Hounsou and Jennifer Connelly, centered on the illicit diamond trade which fueled the 1990s civil war in that country. Liberia Admitted to Kimberley Process

Liberia has been admitted to the Kimberley Process following an assessment mission led by the European Commission, along with representatives from Botswana, industry and civil society.
