Diamonds and Candy—What’s Not to Love?

If there is one thing girls love more than candy, it’s diamonds. And what could be better than the two joined together in a sparkle-fest of sweet celebration? This past March, Sugar Factory celebrated the opening of their glamorous new Las Vegas store by revealing their most indulgent item ever—the diamond-studded lollipop. Kim Kardashian helped the high-fashion candy store unveil the deluxe pop by posing on the red carpet and calling the diamond-studded confection “the most blinged-out pop ever.”
The Couture Pop, as the
diamond lollipop is known, features 280 princess-cut diamonds encrusting the stick, as well as a special candy cover embedded with additional diamonds. The total carat weight of the candy is 15, and is valued at $1 million. And although the original version of the treat is not for sale, the company lends it to Kardashian for press events and public appearances. But fans of bejeweled candy who do not have that kind of allowance don’t need to worry—the company also sells faux-diamond versions with the exact same styling for $25. Available in several different colors and styles, these pops also feature a sparkly stick and cover, and the candy inside comes in a variety of flavors, from blue raspberry to creamy orange.
Who would have thought Hollywood’s hottest accessory would be a piece of candy? In the months since the Couture Pop was unveiled, stars from Katy Perry to Lauren Conrad have been spotted with the sparkly suckers. Britney Spears incorporated the candy into the choreography and promotion for her recent Circus tour, Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger have whipped out a pop or two during concerts, and of course, the Kardashian sisters are often spotted with their favorite accessory.
