My diamond consultant was so helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable that I felt compelled to write you directly, rather than leave a random review on social media. Whiteflash is an excellent company with high standards and amazing diamonds. I love the fact that you have ASET, idealscope and sarin reports. Your prices are fair and inventory is plentiful for round and princess cuts. In my experience, what separated Whiteflash from James Allen, Enchanted, Zoara, etc. was the customer interaction that I had with Becca mainly, and some other staff after the diamond was purchased. It is invaluable to have someone with such expertise and alacrity guide you through this process. Thanks again, Whiteflash. I will recommend you to anyone who is looking for a diamond ring.

The ring is beautiful, I think she is going to be over the moon :) So sparkly :) I want to thank you for your help and patience. I knew roughly what I was after but you gave me everything I needed to finally go through with it. Also please pass on my thanks to the other people I've dealt with at Whiteflash throughout the process. It got delivered right as I got home this afternoon so the timing couldn't have been better.

The ring is beautiful and my fiancee loves it. The diamond is big and flashy, when she wore the ring and walked into Tiffany & Cartier in Guam (we were shopping our wedding band there), their sales staff all noticed the ring and were all wow'd by it and kept asking which brand it was and applauded how beautiful it is. Thank you and the entire Whiteflash team so much for helping me to put this brilliant piece together.

She of course said yes! She loves the ring and gets compliments everywhere she goes. So I am very happy as well as Beth with the ring as well as the experience. Thank you again for making the experience painless and wonderful.

Portugal-JewelryPortugal has always been the smaller, lesser-known sibling to its neighboring country on the Iberian Peninsula, Spain. While millions of tourists flock to Spain every year to take in the unique Spanish culture, food, art and architecture, few think of visiting Portugal. But as Spain endures the instability and civil unrest of an increasingly volatile local economy, travelers are beginning to realize that many of the attractions of Spanish living are available here in Portugal as well. In fact, Portugal is consistently rated one of the best values in European travel—the same art and culture of Mediterranean living without the price tag of Spain or Italy. Tourism in Portugal has surged recently, but it is still one of the least-known and best deals available.

Another important tip that experienced tour guides point out is the importance of planning your souvenir shopping. It may sound counter-intuitive, but when you travel to a new place, researching the kinds of art and handicrafts that are unique to that particular place will help you maximize your souvenir dollars, as well as ensure that you come home with a souvenir that genuinely reminds you of the art and culture of that place, without forcing you to stock up on made-in-China t-shirts in the airport ten minutes before your flight.

So when it comes to souvenir shopping in Portugal, the experts point you towards Portugal jewelry. The ancient country has been well-known throughout the Western world for its jewelers and jewelry makers for hundreds of years—in fact, the famous Portuguese explorer Christopher Columbus headed to the New World hoping to find gold to replenish the stocks of Portugal’s famous goldsmiths. Today, Portugal jewelry shops sell the same delicate, handcrafted gold jewelry made with the same age-old techniques—but the results are surprisingly modern and even trendy. Additionally, ancient customs ensure that all gold jewelry in Portugal is made of a surprising 19.2 karat gold—a higher karat level than nearly any other gold alloy available in the world.

If you are looking for a serious Portugal jewelry purchase (and perhaps even have your eye on a made-in-Portugal engagement ring) ask your tour guide or hotel concierge to point you towards the high end shops in Lisbon’s high-end and surprisingly affordable Baixa district. For internationally known brand names, head to the Avenida da Liberdade, but if you are looking for local Portugal jewelry stores, try the more accessible Bairro Alto, where local jewelers have lived and worked for centuries. For the most beautiful, most opulent Portugal jewelry shopping experience imaginable, visit the Ouriversaria Alianca, an elaborate, gilded jewelry store decorated in the style of classical Portuguese royal palaces. In the Chiado shopping area, make sure to visit Joalharia do Carmo, a local jewelry shop known for their incredible filigree work with sterling silver.

However, even if your budget does not allow for the full royal treatment, you can still find great made-in-Portugal rings, bracelets and necklaces at one of Lisbon’s many open-air markets and street fairs. Of course, it can be difficult to ascertain quality and authenticity in this environment, so travel experts recommend choosing pieces made of glass, leather and non-precious metals and stones, where the authenticity of the materials is not as pressing a concern. Additionally, don’t forget to bargain—especially if you are buying more than one item!
