Wedding Rings for Women
The landscape in bridal fashion has changed dramatically over the last generation. Traditionally women's wedding rings have been quite simple, consisting mainly of a thin engagement ring with a solitaire diamond and a plain gold wedding band. Today, style and flair have entered the bridal picture in a big way, and there are literally thousands of different options available for both bride and groom.
Naturally the simple and traditional style is still available, and is actually quite popular. But more and more women are moving toward styles that showcase their individual tastes in jewelry design. And many are quite elaborate.
Of course, diamonds play a major role in bridal design. Today, it is not all about the engagement diamond. Engagement rings featuring extensive coverage with accent diamonds such as the many beautiful pave styles are quite popular. The halo style with its ring of small accent diamonds framing the outline of the feature diamond is one of the most impressive looks today.
While some women today choose a designer ring with a lot of artistic elements as a stand alone bridal ring, many still want the tradition of having an engagement ring and separate wedding band. This allows the flexibility of wearing only the wedding band on certain occasions such as gardening or swimming at the beach.
While the simplest solitaire engagement rings are the most flexible in terms of being able to match a wedding band, even some of the most elaborate engagement rings today are designed with a particular matching wedding band to go with them. These will typically share some of the same design elements as the engagement ring. In some cases they will be symmetrical, but in many cases they require some contouring in order to fit flush with the engagement ring.
No matter what tastes and sensibilities a woman has today, or how she feels about bridal tradition, there is a women's wedding rings design out there that will be perfect to convey her sense of style.
