Movie and Tv star Amber Tamblyn, 28, announced her engagement this month to TV star and longtime boyfriend David Cross, 47. The nineteen-year age gap between the two has not seemed to bother the couple since they started dating in 2008, and in Hollywood, this announcement is not likely to raise too many eyebrows.
Tamblyn is perhaps best known for her Golden-Globe-nominated role in the hit series Joan of Arcadia, as well as for her role in the teen comedy The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Cross has his own loyal following as well, stemming largely from his beloved role as eccentric psychiatrist Tobias Funke in the cult sitcom Arrested Development. Tamblyn has been busy recently as well, with a role in 127 Hours and the hit medical drama House, M.D. Cross, while waiting for the long-rumored Arrested Development movie, has been appearing in the British import comedy The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret and has lent his voice to the Kung Fu Panda movies. With a slate of roles this large and diverse, it is impressive that the couple have found time to get engaged!
No word yet about when the couple plan to wed, as keeping most of the details about their engagement under wraps seems to be a priority for the press-shy couple. Tamblyn has declined to show her engagement ring to the press. However, although the couple is usually known for casual, laid-back style, Tamblyn has been known to show off some daring red-carpet choices, making her a bride to watch in the coming months.
Tamblyn most recently appeared at the premiere of 127 Hours in a chartreuse vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress with Christian Louboutin heels. Tamblyn is known for favoring retro looks and classic old-Hollywood accessories like dangling earrings and red lipstick, so expect her wedding look to be classy and beautiful. As for Cross, with his trademark red carpet look including glasses, scruff, baseball caps and flannel, don’t expect a sartorial miracle.
