3. The “more is more” approach has already been around for a few years, and now it looks like it is one of those jewelry trends that are here to stay. Enamel, a glass coated surface that can be created in any color and finish, has long been a choice jewelry-making material in certain countries, but fashion designers are finally catching on to its statement-making potential. Bottega Veneta’s diamond-shaped drop earrings achieve covet-worthy status due to their bright-yellow enamel finish, while a textured candy-red enamel surface does the same to a Kara Ross pendant necklace. J. Crew carries a wide variety of affordable, but stylish, enameled bangles, cuff bracelets, and pendants, all finished in modern, colorful enamel.
