From GIA, Carlsbad, Calif. - The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is easing holiday shopping stress with a new microsite designed to help those looking for that special gift of jewelry.

The site's “Featured Gem” is tourmaline, a popular gemstone available in a multitude of colors. Information about tourmaline's various geological sources, history and lore,and proper care is also provided.
In addition, the site describes the seven value factors of pearls – required reading for those looking to give this classic jewelry staple.
