Are you in the process of planning your dream Houston wedding? With wedding season in full gear, it is only natural that brides in Houston have weddings on the brain. But whether you are getting married this summer, in fall 2012 or even next spring, you can take advantage of these Houston wedding tips and tricks to help you make the most of your amazing city in the planning of your special day.
1. Texas has relatively lenient wedding officiating laws, so you can break from tradition if you want, and have anyone from an uncle, friend, mentor, or local hero officiate your wedding ceremony. As long as they complete a simple online registration course, your marriage will be valid in the state.
2. While weddings in many states are confined to a few short months of the year, when weather is reliably pleasant, weddings in Houston can happen all year. In fact, the only time of year that Houston wedding professionals do not recommend for a wedding, especially outdoors, is late summer, when the weather can be brutally hot and hurricanes are a real possibility.
3. Speaking of the weather, keep a close eye on the weather forecast as your wedding date draws near. On a hot day, especially June through September, take precautions to ensure that guests are comfortable. That might mean setting up fans at the outdoor cocktails area, providing cold drinks during the ceremony, or even moving some parts of the festivities inside if the heat and humidity are just too much for Great Aunt Elaine.
4. Public transportation and even taxis can be notoriously unreliable in Houston. Save your out of town guests the inconvenience of making their way through H-town's sprawl all on their own and arrange to have a shuttle pick everyone up at the end of the wedding and drop them off at the hotel. Plus, this arrangement ensures that no one drives drunk on your watch!

5. As much as you might want to have a themed "Houston wedding" complete with cowboy hats and square dancing, weddings tend to be more traditional, classy affairs.
