Light Performance
Result of AGSL ray tracing a 3D model of the diamond scientifically evaluating brightness, contrast, fire and leakage. For more details see our page on Light Performance Cut Grading.
Cut
Cut refers to Cut Quality, the most important aspect of diamond beauty. It is a measure of craftsmanship that involves the proportions, facet placement and finish of the diamond. For more details see our page on AGS Cut Grading.
Polish
The aspect of finish related to the quality of facet flatness and luster. Each facet should be polished to a mirror finish.
Symmetry
Also known as ‘meet point’ symmetry, describes the degree to which contiguous facets meet precisely at the proper places all around the diamond.
Fluorescence
Some diamonds react to strong ultraviolet light waves by emitting light, usually blue, in a process known as photoluminescence. More information can be found on our fluorescence page.
Eye-Clean
The ability or inability to see inclusions in a diamond with the naked eye. Our definition of eye-clean: No inclusions visible to the naked eye of a person with 20/20 vision when viewing the diamond in the face-up position at a distance of approximately 10 inches under normal overhead lighting. Distance, lighting and human vision all influence this judgment.
Culet
The very bottom of the pavilion side of a brilliant style diamond. It is usually pointed, but can have a flat facet placed on it that can range from very small to large.

My husband and I were in the market to buy a diamond about a year ago and I found Whiteflash after reading a post on The 4 Cs talking about their high quality selection of diamonds at competitive prices. Whiteflash has their A Cut Above line of extremely well cut (read: incredibly sparkly) round and princess diamonds, as well as Precision selection of super well cut diamonds of all shapes. Those diamonds are definitely beautiful, but at the time I couldn't find the cut and carat weight that I wanted. I finally called Whiteflash's store because at that point I had been shopping for diamonds at multiple retailers for many months and I just wanted to pick something, but not be disappointed with my choice later. I talked with Michelle a couple of times on the phone and over email, and she was so helpful. I love the diamond I chose and I don't know if I would've gotten it without her guidance. Besides answering all my questions she sent the ASET images for all the diamonds I looked at (I went to another, larger jeweler and they never sent ASET images I requested) and followed up within the exchange window after I finally made a purchase to ensure I was still happy with my choice. There are a lot of places online to buy a diamond at a cheap price. But I couldn't find any that match Whiteflash's selection AND customer empowerment, both through their amazing customer service and "Education" section of their website. It's been several months since the diamond I bought was set and it's sooooo pretty and I'm super satisfied with my choice! I 100% recommend Whiteflash for any loose diamond/diamond jewelry purchases.

Custom Solitaire Engagement Ring
May 25, 2024
I recently bought an engagement ring from white flash, and like most men (I think) I had very minimal knowledge to the whole process. Liza offered excellent customer service, the whole process she kept me informed and made sure all my questions were addressed with expertise knowledge and in a timely manner. The process from picking a stone, to ring was so smooth thanks to the Whiteflash team. I really felt like a valued customer here and I'm glad Whiteflash helped me make the next step in my relationship.

The ring was a hit and she has been showing it off at work all week. No one had ever even seen a diamond like that, which was just what I was hoping for. Thanks for making the process easy and delivering a product that not only met but exceeded all expectations.

I must say that my shopping experience with Becca and Jennifer was great, it went really smooth. These Ladies are very professional and knowledgeable. They are extremely patient, kind, and go completely out of their way to answer any questions customers might have. Their response time is also pretty fast either by phone or email. Whiteflash logistic Department is also stellar, fast and secure shipping/delivery. It has been a real pleasure dealing with Whiteflash. As for the diamonds themselves, they are just incredible. The fire, sparkles and scintillation of the Cut-Above-Diamonds, are way above anything I have ever had or seen. These diamonds sparkle are pretty large that look like the diamond has caught actual fire. People either seating or standing far away from me have walked up to me and asked me about the diamonds and the ring. The overall effect is a visual feast of lights that you see in dreams. Just incredible. I will definitely come back and but some more, and recommend to friends and family, these diamonds are incredible.
