Sheerah, sorry about the delay in responding. We love the ring! After the first evening of wearing it, Roz noticed some mild abrasions on the bottom of the ring. She had an opinion that platinum was much more resistant and I think it promoted some of her suspicions of buying on the net to surface. So between that and the idea that something brand new and so dear was already marred, she was upset/concerned. I tried to tell her that although platinum is harder than gold, it's highly polished surface is not impervious to wear, but my words didn't carry much weight. Last night we went to a jeweler who assured her that it was in fact platinum behaving just as platinum should and although she has received many compliments on the ring, the jeweler saying ""very nice diamond"" and ""pretty ring"" gave her what she needed to relax into really enjoying the ring fully. The jeweler also gave it a quick buffing/cleaning bringing it back to it's pristine glory. She's happy - so I'm happy. Thanks for the professional shopping experience and the lovely ring.
