A 5.47 carat diamond was found at the Crater of
Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro on October 14. According to Tom Stolarz, park superintendent, it is a bright yellow canary diamond with no visible flaws.
Bob Wehle of Wisconsin found the diamond and will take it home as a souvenir. Crater of Diamonds is the world’s only publicly operated diamond site where visitors are allowed to keep any gems they find.
This is the second largest diamond found this year. The largest was a 6.35 carat brown diamond found last month by a couple from Texas.
