Watching the Sparkle in the Firelight
The proposal went great. Monica is completely in love with the ring. She says she couldn't have picked a better one herself. I took her to the place we fell for eachother and had the lab certificate wrapped up like it was a small book. When she opened it and saw the diagram of a diamond she froze. Then I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife. She said ""yes!"" and started crying. I had to tell her to put the ring on 4 or 5 times. She just kept looking at it. It sparkles so brilliantly, even when there is practically no light.
In fact, we went to visit her Dad in Corpus Christi on Sunday, and she told him and his family about our engagement. While we were over there the power went out, and we were using candles and flashlights. For a good while Monica, her step-mother, and her stepsiser were all just looking at the ring sparkle in the firelight.
Of course I am in trouble now, since you had to take the ring to resize it. She is telling me I am going to have to propose all over again.
